At the end of 2024 when you discuss which rappers had the best year, Future is making sure his name is at least in the conversation. Following WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, tonight the Atlanta workhorse is back with his third project in less than seven months.
When he first announced the project, it wasn’t clear if it’s a song or a full length project but it became clear a few days ago when the Atlanta rapper revealed the tracklist.
This new one is his first solo mixtape in a good few years, the last being Purple Reign in 2016. Mixtape Pluto is out now. It is produced by 808 Mafia boss Southside, and co-executive produced by Wheezy. Stream it below.
Future has also released the music video for the track ‘Too Fast’:
Since dropping his debut album Finally Famous in 2011, Big Sean’s been pretty consistent with releasing projects, so much so that the gap between 2020’s Detroit 2 and this new album Better Me Than You is the longest break he’s taken.
That was likely partly due to the pandemic and Sean becoming a father at the end of 2022. It seems a lot has been on the Detroit rapper’s chest and this album has been therapeutic to get out.
The new album Better Me Than You is a culmination of the past few years and tonight, after some unfortunate delays and a leak, it’s finally out officially.
Earlier today, Sean unveiled the official tracklist for the album containing a total of 21 songs and guest appearances from Gunna, Charlie Wilson, Bryson Tiller, Kodak Black, DJ Premier and more. Stream the album in its entirety below.
Sean has also dropped a star studded music video for ‘Superstar (Who You Are)’ — watch it below.
ASAP Rocky has talked about his so called beef with Drake in a new interview with Billboard.
Since Drake appeared to disparage Rihanna on the For All the Dogs song “Fear of Heights” last November, Drake and A$AP Rocky have been exchanging barbs. Rocky seemed to taken shots at Drizzy in January when he performed the Kid Cudi song “Wow.” A$AP Rocky retaliated once more in April on the Future and Metro Boom song “Show of Hands.”
In the Billboard story, Rocky says he’s got bigger things to worry than problems with Drake.
“You got to realize, certain n***as was throwing shots for years,” A$AP Rocky said. “I ain‚Äôt in the middle of that s**t. That‚Äôs not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some p***y boys. It is real beef outside. It is real. N***as getting really clipped and blitzed every day. N***as sniping n***as every day. That little kitty s**t ain‚Äôt about nothing.”
“Call up Pluto, Metro, should‚Äôve put me on the first one/Ni**as swear they b***h the baddest, I just bagged the worst one,” Rocky raps. “Ni**as in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin‚Äô?/I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son/Still don‚Äô trust you, it‚Äôs always us, never them/Heard you dropped your latest sh*t/Funny how it just came and went (Ha-ha-ha).”
On ‘Family Matters’, Drake rapped: “Rakim talkin’ s**t again/Gassed ‚Äôcause you hit my BM first/Ni**a do the math, who I was hitting then,” Drake spits. “I ain’t even know you rap still ‚Äôcause they only talking ‚Äôbout your fit again/Probably gotta have a kid again before you think of dropping any sh*t again/Even when you do drop they gon’ say you should model cause it’s mid again/Smoking Fenty ‚Äôbout they shoulda put you on the first one you tryna get it in/Ask Fring if this a good idea next time you cuddled in the bed again/She’ll even tell ya leave the boy alone before ya get your head split again.”

The Weeknd is the biggest hitmaker of the 2020s decade according to Billboard Global 200 Points.
According to the official press release, the Canadian superstar dominates the rankings, staying ahead by a considerable margin from the likes of Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, Drake, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, SZA, Beyonce and more.
“Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, has shaped the music landscape over the last decade with his ability to transcend across listeners from all backgrounds. His achievements in creating sounds that resonate globally have become part of popular culture through films, television shows, and advertisements,” says the statement from superstar’s rep.

This development comes as Weeknd prepares to release a new album, which will finish the trilogy after After Hours and Dawn FM. A couple of weeks ago, he previewed a new song titled ‘The Abyss’ which you can catch here.
Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign released their latest album VULTURES 2 last week to a mixed reaction.
Sample clearances, streaming removals, and the rumor that Kanye West employed artificial intelligence (AI) to finish some his lyrics — the album has been a moot point ever since its release. Kanye and Ty’s joint album was projected to sell 83K units in its first week initially but the final numbers are a bit better.
The album has debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 107k copies in the first week — about 60k out of that coming from pure sales.
Kanye’s first week numbers are certainly on the decline. Jesus Is King and DONDA sold 264K and 309K first week, respectively while VULTURES did 148K units in the first week.
Big Sean has pushed back the release of his new album Better Me Than You.
The Detroit rapper’s new album was originally planned to release this Friday, August 9th as he announced last month but looks like we’d have to wait a bit more.
A fan asked Sean why he referred to release of the album being “soon” rather than mention the exact date of this Friday, in his latest Instagram post. ‚ÄúWhy u saying album soon like it‚Äôs not suppose to drop on the 9th?‚Äù In response, Big Sean wrote back, ‚ÄúI gotta push it back just a lil bit. Music done but jus organizing listening events, shows, etc. Might need a extra week or 2 to plan.‚Äù
Sean has not revealed the new date but it’s definitely not arriving on the 9th. He recently shared a new song called ‘On Up‘ along with a music video shot with his family.
Big Sean responded well to a big chunk of his album leaking, even though that’s not something most have to deal with in the streaming era. He dropped a song called ‘Yes‘ and confirmed an August 8th release date for it, which is just a week away now.
Before Better Me Than You officially drops next Friday, tonight Sean is back with another preview of what we can expect. This new one is called ‘On Up’ and is much more soulful than the first cut with the rapper opening up about everything going on with his life.
‘On Up’ is produced by his regular collaborators Key Wane and Amaire Johnson. It comes along with a music video as well where the camera shoots from the eyes of his son and features his close family. Watch the heartfelt clip below.
Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have announced the release date for their new album Vultures 2.
Ye’s website yeezy.com website updated with an announcement on Wednesday about the anticipated album, which has been being teased for months now. The homepage is a blank white screen with a countdown in the top left corner. Under the countdown is the message: “ALL ORDERS FULFILLED. VULTURES 2 COMING AUGUST 2ND.”
The main question is whether the album will actually drop on that day. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign first announced the release date back in January, saying that Vultures 2 would drop on March 8 and would serve as the second of three volumes of the album. Of course, that date came and went without the album dropping.
Killer Mike had been hinting that he is planning to release a new album soon.
Today, he makes the official announcement that his 10 song project titled Songs For Sinners & Saints is coming as soon as this Friday, August 2nd. This comes following his super successful 2023 with the album MICHAEL for which he won several GRAMMY awards, and the latest single ‘Humble Me‘ that came out earlier this month.
“I had a year to live with MICHAEL,‚Äù he states, ‚Äúand I realized I had more I wanted to do with this sound before moving on.‚Äù
Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival: Songs For Sinners & Saints¬†is a ten song collection that serves as an epilogue to the MICHAEL era. Mike states “for me this is a testimonial. When I was growing up an important part of church service was people having the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony on their trials, tribulations, and triumphs. After the celebratory atmosphere that followed MICHAEL I was reminded that tribulations never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimonial of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph in spite of doubt, outright hate, and fear. I am here to speak to and with my fellow sinners and Saints.‚Äù
Mike will be celebrating the release with an official Sinners & Saints Live Stream from the last show of his ongoing residency at Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC at 10:30pm EST on Wednesday, July 31 with a special guest appearance by EL-P.

GORDO (FKA Carnage), the Grammy nominated producer and DJ announced his new album Diamante last week.
Today, he has unveiled the official tracklist for the project which comes out this Friday. The biggest highlight is of course the Drake feature on it, called ‘Sideways’. DIAMANTE is his most heartfelt project yet, dedicated to GORDO‚Äôs family, friends, and loved ones, inviting fans along his personal journey to freedom as “he reconnects with his Nicaraguan-American roots.”
GORDO produced six tracks on Drake’s house music-infused album Honestly, Nevermind and two on the Canadian artist’s For All The Dogs album, including ‘Rich Baby Daddy’. “We’ve been friends for years but had never actually properly collaborated on music before ‘Honestly, Nevermind.’ To have him on my debut album speaks volumes about what people can expect on it,” says GORDO about his first official collaboration with Drake.
Apart from Drake, Fuerza Regida, T-Pain, Maluma, Nicki Nicole, Feid, Leon Bridges and more will also appear on the album which can be pre-saved here.
Lupe Fiasco, who recently dropped a heavy conceptual piece as his latest album, Samurai, has just announced his upcoming tour.
The announcement comes out as part of an exciting rollout, beginning with the release of his latest single, ‘Tickets‘, which has just come out and is available for your listening pleasure below!
The countrywide tour picks up as early as this Fall, beginning with an opening performance in New York City, on October 3rd. With nearly two months of continuous touring, Lupe plans to end the tour with Los Angeles as his final stop on November 24th. And in case you find yourself wondering when Lupe is going to pop up in your city, fret not, we’ve got the dates right here:
“Samurai Tour” Dates 10/3 New York, NY (Terminal 5) 10/4 Hartford, CT (The Webster) 10/5 Philadelphia, PA (Union Transfer) 10/6 Boston, MA (Royale) 10/10 Columbus, OH (Columbus Athenaeum) 10/11 Cleveland, OH (TempleLive Cleveland Masonic) 10/18 Fort Collins, CO (Washington‚Äôs FoCo) 10/19 Denver, CO (Summit) 10/24 Solana Beach, CA (Belly Up) 10/25 Ventura, CA (Ventura Music Hall) 10/26 Pomona, CA (Fox Theater Pomona) 11/9 St. Louis, MO (The Factory at The District) 11/10 Chicago, IL (Salt Shed) 11/14 Atlanta, GA (Variety Playhouse) 11/15 Norfolk, VA (The NorVa) 11/16 Washington, D.C. (The Howard Theatre) 11/21 San Francisco, CA (The Warfield) 11/22 Santa Cruz, CA (The Catalyst) 11/24 Los Angeles, CA (The Novo)
The tickets go up for grabs on Friday, July 26th at 10am local time, but in the meantime, you can lose yourself in the want of them by listening to the new Lupe record which, by the way, has not compromised one bit on the raps. Impressive, considering it is primarily a promotional single for the tour. He also promises that he’s got tickets for the low on the track, so it’s definitely something to look forward to; unless you’re a synth-head, in which case, you can also look forward to the wobbly synth bass on the record with a dash of crisp drum breaks that cut perfectly through the mix.
For a deep dive, though, we reccommend diving deep into the experience that is the Samurai album. It is essentially a loose impersonation of singer Amy Winehouse, reimagined as a battle rapper. Why would someone imagine Amy Winehouse as a battle rapper, you ask? Check out the clip below to find out for yourself!
Big Sean dropped a freestyle on On The Radar yesterday that turned a lot of heads for a lot of reasons. Many heard a few lines from it and theorized that they were about Kendrick Lamar. The two traded shots years ago but since squashed their issues, with Sean rapping about Nipsey’s death being a factor in it.
I talked to Sean. The bar was
“I got better things to do then find someone to beef with”
And it was not for Dot. Bar was directed at a different Gemini
DJ Hed took to Twitter to reveal that he spoke to Sean about the line. Sean reportedly told him that the bar was for a different Gemini, which many quickly put together was about Kanye West, whose birthday is on June 8th.
Sean and Ye’s issues stem from Ye owing the Detroit rapper millions of dollars and going on Drink Champs to disparage him. The pair haven’t seen eye to eye for years, with Sean addressing it on multiple songs.
Now, Sean has responded to the leak, saying that he might as well drop soon if his music’s going to leak. He then previewed a song produced by The Alchemist. We never want artist’s music to leak, but if it means Sean drops the album sooner, maybe we can consider it a silver lining.
Is Kanye West done with doing music professionally?
In a text conversation with Rich The Kid, the rap mogul says he’s “retiring from professional music.” He adds that he isn’t sure “what else to do” before his regular collaborator chimes in with some advice.
Rich tells ye that the people need him and that the music they made together on Vultures 1 was “the biggest stamp in culture to this date in 2024.” He then suggests that taking some time off to chill is good but “retiring ain’t it.”
It isn’t very clear what Kanye really means by the text he sent to Rich The Kid. Kanye and Ty recently announced a Vultures listening event at South Korea‚Äôs Goyang Stadium next month on the 23rd. Vultures 2 was originally slated to arrive on May 3, but nothing came out that day.
Ty recently told Billboard that the new album was pretty much done. ‚ÄúWe got all the songs. Basically, it‚Äôs just like, ‚ÄòHow can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’‚Äù he said. ‚ÄúCertain people will probably expect you to just do the same exact sound. But that sound‚Äôs already out.‚Äù
UPDATE: On further inspection, Kendrick Lamar’s jacket actually reads S/S/2024, as in it’s part of the spring/summer collection. You can see a better quality picture of the Martine Rose jacket below.
Previous story:
Compton legend and arguably one of the greatest hip hop lyricists of all time, Kendrick Lamar, has occupied the mind space of fans of rap across the globe for a hot minute now.
Doubling down on the momentum from his feud with Drake, the rapper recently released the official video for ‘Not Like Us,’ and safe to say, fans are dissecting every frame for clues to a potential full length project.
Sure enough, one peculiar thing that stood out has been the date on Kendrick’s jacket from the music video, which reads the date “8/8/2024,” which is being widely interpreted as the release date for the upcoming project. Now, one would assume it’s just a coincidence, if it weren’t for the overwhelming evidence in support of the theory — especially considering Kendrick’s love for Easter Eggs with numbers and dates. For starters, his latest concert ‘The Pop Out: Ken & Friends’ took place on Juneteenth, while the music video has come out on the 4th of July (the American Independence Day).
Now, we all know how much Kendrick was inspired by Kobe Bryant (and vice versa), and we also know Kobe’s jersey numbers to have been 8 and 24 respectively. As an LA legend that passed away before his time, the date has special relevance and is one of those rare opportunities for Kendrick to double down on the love he has for LA.
Now at the risk of over-speculation (which hilariously, and even valid reasons, is a mark of the Kendrick fanbase), a personal observation is how the date August 8 when added divided by the year 24, gives us 0.666 [(8+8)/24= 0.666]. This only becomes relevant if indeed intended, and would allude to Drake’s association with the Six, as well as Kendrick’s opening of ‘Not Like Us,’ where he references the phrase, “I see dead people” from the movie,¬†The Sixth Sense.
Now look, we know it seems over the top, but if you’ve heard Kendrick’s mental mathematics on the Pusha T collab, ‘Nosetalgia,’ you just know it isn’t too far fetched for a man like Dot. Not to mention the fact that 666 would tie in well with Kendrick’s portrayal of Drake as the devil who plays manipulative tricks.
All this speculation is, of course, in follow up to a series of diss tracks by Kendrick, one of which was the track ‘6.16 in LA.’ This track itself follows the same kind of patterns Kendrick is famous for: layer on layer of meaning and significance. For instance, 6.16 is speculated to be a play on Tupac’s birthday, the date Kendrick met Drake for the first time, the reference to Drake’s timestamp based releases, and so much more. The video below perfectly captures the hidden (or speculated) meanings behind the track.
With Kendrick teasing a new snippet at the beginning of the ‘Not Like Us’ video, it is extremely likely that a project is coming soon. Even Kendrick’s close associates, the likes of DJ Hed, insinuated that something big is underway. All we have to do now is sit back and wait to see if the predictions are true in any way, shape, or form. Stay tuned!
